EASTON, PA – South Side – 7 August 2020
Located at 723 Coal St in Easton, PA’s South Side, the Ada B. Cheston Elementary School has been a fixture of the community since 1964. Now, it is rapidly being cleared away so the space can become the spacious yard to the newly constructed school bearing the same name which is set to open in 2020 within the Easton Area School District.
Ada B. Cheston graduated from South Easton High School in 1882 and went on to have a career spanning 52 years as a teacher. She encouraged children to seek a love for learning and to grow up with a sense of civic duty. The school bearing her name was founded in 1964 and will live on in the newly constructed Ada B. Cheston Elementary School while the old school is demolished. The new building was designed and constructed by Bethlehem, PA based Alloy 5.
